We do permit slower runners beginning with the walking race; please contact the Event Coordinator info@manawatustriders.org.nz to arrange this.

race walkers

Whilst Runners may walk, Walkers may not run.

Walkers in the marathon, half marathon and 10km events will this year be issued a walking race bib.

The walkers category is for participants who intend to walk the entire course and compete against other ‘walkers’.

For this reason, it is important that if you intend to run any part of the course, you MUST enter as a runner, not a walker.

As event organisers we reserve the right to change a participant’s category from ‘walk’ to ‘run’ in order to preserve the order of results of actual race walkers on the course.

EVENT HQ

Event HQ will offer the full post-race experience; where you can relax, soak up the atmosphere, refuel, and enjoy celebrating your achievement with friends and family.

There will be parking at Massey on the day but please note Orchard Road is closed so you will need to access the parking from Old West Road.

TIMING

The Timing Team will be taking care of all of our timing needs on the day.  Race numbers are worn on the front of your shirt and must be clearly visible at all times. You must remember not to cover your race number as you pass over the start/finish line as this can affect the integrity of the chip timing.

Disposable timing chips are attached to the back of your race number and will record your time. Timing chips do not need to be returned.

SPOT PRIZES

All marathon, half marathon and 10km participants will be eligible for the draw. You must be present to collect your prize.

RACE PHOTOS

We will have multiple photographers on course from The Applied Photography group to capture those special moments from the day. Photos will be able to be downloaded FREE from our Facebook page following the event. We ask that the photographer/protography group be acknowledged in any social media posts.
