The New Half Marathon Course for 2013

The Half Marathon course is a scenic route through Massey University, along the Manawatu Bridle Path and in the Esplanade of Palmerston North. After passing through Massey University and over the Fitzherbert Avenue bridge, the course heads upstream along the sealed bridle path to the turnaround point at the Ruamahanga Crescent exit. The course returns to the bridge and continues through the Esplanade then onto the lime path to opposite Riverdale Kindergarten, then over the stopbank and back along Dittmer Drive into the Esplanade and to the finish at Massey University.

The 10km course follows the Half Marathon course until the turnaround at the 5km mark on the Bridle Path near the exit to Albert Street. 10km competitors then return back along the same route to the finish at Massey University.

The 5km course follows the Half Marathon course through Massey University and then at the entrance passes under Tennent Drive to continue on Dairy Farm Road through the Science Centres to the turnaround point of Poultry Farm Road and returns on the same course to the finish at Massey University.

The course distances are certified by Pirie Consultants Limited. Every kilometre will be marked.

Time splits will be called at 1km, 5km, 10km and 15km.
